Around 1994, Bachchan started [[Amitabh Bachchan Corporation|Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd]] (ABCL), an event management, production and distribution company. But the company fell into debt with a fiasco and went into bankruptcy, subsequently Bachchan became nearly bankrupt. The reasons for this debacle were films that fared poorly at the box office such as ''[[Mrityudata]]'', ''[[Major Saab]]'' (produced by this organisation), and [[Miss World 1996]] which was organised-managed by ABCL. Due to this he began work for TV, and asked for work to [[Yash Chopra]]. He has invested in many upcoming business ventures. In 2013, he bought a 10% stake in Just Dial from which he made a gain of 4600 per cent. He holds a 3.4% equity in Stampede Capital, a financial technology firm specialising in cloud computing for financial markets.
