===Climate===
The climate in the West Bank is mostly [[Mediterranean]], slightly cooler at elevated areas compared with the shoreline, west to the area. In the east, the West Bank includes the [[Judaean Desert|Judean Desert]] and the shoreline of the Dead Sea – both with dry and hot climate.

In the most highly elevated areas in the northwest, annual rainfall is more than 27 inches (685&nbsp;mm). This declines in the southwest and southeast to less than 4 inches (100&nbsp;mm). Hilly terrains are used for sheep grazing and cultivating olives, cereals and fruits.
