In recent years, average temperatures in Salem have ranged from a low of {{convert|21|°F}} in January to a high of {{convert|87|°F}} in July, although a record low of {{convert|-32|°F}} was recorded in February 1951 and a record high of {{convert|105|°F}} was recorded in July 1954. Average monthly precipitation ranged from {{convert|2.87|in}} in October to {{convert|4.86|in}} in May.<ref name=WX/>
