Vietnamese is taught in schools and institutions outside of Vietnam, a large part contributed by its [[Overseas Vietnamese|diaspora]]. In countries with Vietnamese-speaking communities Vietnamese language education largely serves as a role to link descendants of Vietnamese immigrants to their ancestral culture.
