Valladolid is a [[Municipalities of Spain|municipality]], the basic local administrative division in Spain. The [[Valladolid City Council|Ayuntamiento de Valladolid]] is the body charged with the municipal government and administration.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.valencia.es/ayuntamiento/ayuntamiento.nsf?opendatabase&lang=1&nivel=1|publisher=Ayuntamiento de Valencia|title=Ayuntamiento de Valencia}}</ref> The Plenary of the ''[[Ayuntamiento (Spain)|ayuntamiento]]'' is formed by 27 elected municipal councillors, who in turn invest the [[Alcalde|mayor]]. The last municipal election took place on 26 May 2019. Since 2015, [[Óscar Puente]] ([[PSOE]]) serves as Mayor.
