Numerous U.S. jurisdictions have enacted laws regulating the striptease. Among its provisions is the "six-foot rule", copied by other municipalities, that requires that dancers maintain a {{convert|6|ft|m|adj=on|spell=in}} distance while performing.

Other rules forbid "full nudity".
