An underwater pipeline with a diameter of {{convert|30|in|cm}} and a length of {{convert|128|mi|km}} transports oil from the [[Piper oilfield]] to the [[Flotta oil terminal]]. The Visitor Centre occupies a converted naval fuel pumping station and storage tank and next to it is a round stone-built battery emplacement and artillery gun as well as other decommissioned arsenal. It features a large model of the island, Scapa Flow and of the German warships.
