== Legal history == In 1977, Polanski was arrested and charged with [[Roman Polanski sexual abuse case|drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl]]. Among other things, the suit alleged sexual assault, [[false imprisonment]], seduction of a minor, and [[intentional infliction of emotional distress]]. In 1993, Polanski agreed to settle with his victim.
