In November 2021, Pfizer launched a new COVID-19 oral antivirus treatment known as [[Nirmatrelvir/ritonavir|Paxlovid]]. In January 2022, the Pfizer CEO [[Albert Bourla]] confirmed that the trial results of a fourth dose were pending until March 2022. He said that the firm was setting up a collaboration to develop an anti-COVID pill treatment along with a French company, [[Novasep]].
