The former [[John Wesley College (Michigan)|John Wesley College]] began in 1949 as Owosso Bible College,<ref>{{Cite web |title=Gute Hill Owosso, Michigan |url=https://shiawasseehistory.com/gute.html |access-date=26 July 2023 |website=shiawasseehistory.com}}</ref> and closed in 1981.

Education is provided by the [[Owosso Public Schools]], which owns the historic [[Lincoln School (Owosso, Michigan)|Lincoln School]] on Michigan Avenue south of [[M-21 (Michigan highway)|M-21]]. [[Owosso High School]] is the sole high school in the city.
