Luton is situated less than {{convert|30|mi|km|-1}} north of the centre of London, giving it good links with the [[City of London|City]] and other parts of the country via rail and major roads such as the [[M1 motorway|M1]] (which serves the town from junctions 10 and 11) and the [[A6 road (England)|A6]].

Luton is also home to [[London Luton Airport]], one of the major feeder airports for London and the south-east. A network of bus services run by [[Arriva Shires & Essex]], [[Grant Palmer (bus operator)|Grant Palmer]] and [[Centrebus]] serves the [[Luton/Dunstable Urban Area|urban area of Luton and Dunstable]]. Luton is also served by a large [[Taxicab|taxi]] network.
