Editing Hemphill County, Texas (section)

During the period [[1912 United States presidential election|1912]] through the 1940s, Democratic candidates at the presidential level predominated in Hemphill County, the exception being [[1928 United States presidential election|1928]]. From [[1952 United States presidential election|1952]], Republicans have held sway, losing the county only in the [[1964 United States presidential election|1964]] landslide by native son [[Lyndon B. Johnson|Lyndon Johnson]].
