== Veneration in Eastern Slavic uses of Byzantine rite{{anchor|veneration issue}} ==
The first printed Church Slavonic editions of the [[Triodion]] did not include the Sunday of Gregory Palamas<ref>{{Cite web |title=Russian Orthodox encyclopedia, article on Gregory Palamas |url=https://www.pravenc.ru/text/168057.html}}</ref> until liturgical reforms of [[Petro Mohyla]]<ref>{{Cite book |title=Kyiv Triodion |date=1620}}</ref> who, inter alia, aimed to update Kievan use of the Byzantine rite to then-contemporary version of its Greek counterpart. Mohyla's reforms inspired subsequent [[Patriarch Nikon of Moscow#Nikon's reforms|Nikon's reforms]] that brought liturgical veneration of Gregory Palamas to Moscow.

But the liturgical uses of communities that did not accept these reforms or were not affected by them, namely [[Old Believers]] and [[Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church]], did not traditionally have this celebration.

A special case is [[Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church]], who was not affected by any of these reforms initially.
