== Anglo-Sikh Wars ==

In 1843, [[United Kingdom|Britain]] annexed the [[Sind Division|Sind]]. The First Anglo-Sikh War was fought between the [[Sikh Empire]] and the [[East India Company]] in 1845–1846, resulting in the partial subjugation of the Sikh kingdom. The Second Anglo-Sikh War was fought in 1848–1849, resulting in subjugation of the remainder of the Sikh Empire, and the annexation of the [[Punjab Province (British India)|Punjab Province]] and what subsequently became the [[North-West Frontier Province (1901–55)|North-West Frontier Province]].
