As Duke of York, George's arms were the [[royal arms]], with an [[inescutcheon]] of the [[Coat of arms of Saxony|arms of Saxony]], all differenced with a [[Label (heraldry)|label]] of three points [[argent]], the centre point bearing an anchor [[Azure (heraldry)|azure]]. The anchor was removed from his [[Coat of arms of the Prince of Wales|coat of arms as the Prince of Wales]]. As King, he bore the royal arms.
