==Government==
Fukushima has a [[mayor-council]] form of government with a directly elected mayor and a [[unicameral]] city legislature of 35 members. The city also contributes eight members to the Fukushima Prefectural Assembly. In terms of national politics, most of the city falls within the Fukushima 1st district, a single-member constituency of the [[House of Representatives of Japan|House of Representatives]] in the national [[Diet of Japan]], which also includes the cities of [[Date, Fukushima|Date]], [[Sōma, Fukushima|Sōma]], [[Minamisōma, Fukushima|Minamisōma]] and [[Date District, Fukushima|Date District]] and [[Sōma District, Fukushima|Sōma District]].
