[[U.S. Route 60]] and [[U.S. Route 460]] pass east–west through Frankfort. [[U.S. Route 127]] and [[U.S. Route 421]] pass north–south through Frankfort. [[Interstate 64 in Kentucky|Interstate 64]] passes to the south of the city.

Frankfort Union Station was a medium scale hub [[Train station|passenger train station]] for north-central Kentucky.
