* [[Elgin Area School District U46]] is Elgin-based, and serves most of Elgin. U-46 is the second largest school district in [[List of school districts in Illinois|Illinois]], serves an area of {{convert|90|sqmi|km2}} in [[List of school districts in Illinois#Cook County|Cook]], [[List of school districts in Illinois#DuPage County|DuPage]] and [[List of school districts in Illinois#Kane County|Kane]] Counties.
