Carrickfergus is covered by the [[East Antrim (UK Parliament constituency)|East Antrim constituency]], whose [[Member of Parliament (United Kingdom)|Member of Parliament]] (MP) is [[Sammy Wilson (politician)|Sammy Wilson]] of the [[Democratic Unionist Party|DUP]]. The [[Carrickfergus (UK Parliament constituency)|Parliamentary constituency of Carrickfergus]] existed from 1801 to 1885.
