Belmont County is served by several detention centers located around [[St. Clairsville, Ohio|St. Clairsville]]. The Belmont Correctional Institution is located on {{convert|158|acre|km2}} between St. Clairsville and Bannock on [[Ohio State Route 331|State Route 331]].
