==== 1990s ==== He later re-teamed with Moranis in the [[Italian-American Mafia|Mafia]] comedy ''[[My Blue Heaven (1990 American film)|My Blue Heaven]]'' (1990). In 1991, Martin starred in and wrote ''[[L.A. Story]]'', a romantic comedy, in which the female lead was played by his then-wife [[Victoria Tennant]]. Martin also appeared in [[Lawrence Kasdan]]'s ''[[Grand Canyon (1991 film)|Grand Canyon]]'', in which he played the tightly wound Hollywood film producer, Davis, who was recovering from a traumatic robbery that left him injured, which was a more serious role for him. Martin also starred in a remake of the comedy ''[[Father of the Bride (1991 film)|Father of the Bride]]'' in 1991 (followed by a [[Father of the Bride Part II|sequel]] in 1995) and in the 1992 comedy ''[[Housesitter]]'', with [[Goldie Hawn]] and [[Dana Delany]]. In 1994, he starred in ''[[A Simple Twist of Fate]]''; a film adaptation of ''[[Silas Marner]]''. In [[David Mamet]]'s 1997 thriller ''[[The Spanish Prisoner]]'', Martin played a darker role as a wealthy stranger who takes a suspicious interest in the work of a young businessman ([[Campbell Scott]]). In 1998, Martin guest starred with [[U2]] in the 200th episode of ''[[The Simpsons]]'' titled "[[Trash of the Titans]]", providing the voice for sanitation commissioner Ray Patterson, and also voiced Hotep in the animated film ''[[The Prince of Egypt]]''. In 1999, Martin and Hawn starred in a remake of the 1970 [[Neil Simon]] comedy, ''[[The Out-of-Towners (1999 film)|The Out-of-Towners]]'', and Martin went on to star with [[Eddie Murphy]] in the comedy ''[[Bowfinger]],'' which he also wrote. He also appeared in Disney's ''[[Fantasia 2000]]'' to introduce the segment ''[[Pines of Rome]]'', along with [[Itzhak Perlman]].
