===The Gerrard era===

The 2019–20 season began with Rangers again qualifying for the UEFA Europa League group stage before losing 2–0 to Celtic at Ibrox in the first Old Firm match of the season on 1 September. The following day, the club signed [[Ryan Kent]] from Liverpool for £7 million.
