Administrative judiciary already existed in the Second Polish Republic, but it was abolished after World War II.<ref>{{cite book |last1=Garlicki |first1=Leszek |title=Polskie prawo konstytucyjne |date=2007 |publisher=Liber |isbn=978-83-272-3154-3 |page=336 |edition=11 }}</ref> Its gradual restoration began in 1980 with the creation of the Supreme Administrative Court (NSA).<ref name="Polskie prawo konstytucyjne"/> The current Constitution introduced the principle of two-instance procedures, which resulted in the establishment of voivodeship administrative courts adjudicating in the first instance.
