==Palm Springs Public Library==
The Palm Springs Public Library is located in the village government complex.<ref name=vpsfl.org>{{cite web |url=https://www.vpsfl.org/269/Library |title=Library |publisher=Village of Palm Springs|access-date=June 1, 2021}}</ref> As of November 2021, a total of 91,643&nbsp;items are circulated by the library, including 48,071&nbsp;volumes.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://librarytechnology.org/library/4317 |title=Palm Springs Public Library|date=November 22, 2021 |publisher=Library Technology Guides |access-date=February 2, 2022}}</ref> The library began in the 1960s as a collection of books acquired via donations and then cataloged and shelved in a room in the old village hall.<ref name="Simkowitz">{{cite report |url=https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/ED422005.pdf |title=The Florida Library History Project|chapter=Palm Springs Public Library|author=Tracy Simkowitz|date=1988|publisher=University of South Florida |access-date=November 2, 2021}}</ref>{{rp|316}} After the accumulating collection outgrew the room, the materials were transferred to a double-wide trailer.<ref name="Simkowitz"/>{{rp|317}} In the early 1970s, Jeanette J. Guerty was elected to the village council and lobbied for the construction of a library building, using funds from a capital improvements bond issue approved in 1976.<ref name="Simkowitz"/>{{rp|318}} Due to her death in September&nbsp;1978, the library was officially named the Jeanette J. Guerty Palm Springs Library when it opened on November&nbsp;11, 1978.<ref name="Simkowitz"/>{{rp|317–318}} Initially a {{convert|6000|sqft|abbr=on}} building, the library has been expanded multiple times, including in the mid-1980s and mid-2000s.<ref name="About the village"/><ref name="Simkowitz"/>{{rp|318}} In 1978, Janeen Campanero became the first appointed library director for the Palm Spring Public Library.
