==Alleged collaboration with the Communist Regime in Bulgaria==
In 2018, Bulgaria's state Dossier Commission announced that Kristeva had been an agent for the [[Committee for State Security (Bulgaria)|Committee for State Security]] under the code name "Sabina". Under the [[People's Republic of Bulgaria]], any Bulgarian who wanted to travel abroad had to apply for an exit visa and get an approval from the Ministry of Interior.
