Lange is a [[List of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors|Goodwill Ambassador]] for the [[United Nations Children's Fund]] (UNICEF), specializing in the [[HIV/AIDS]] epidemic in the [[Democratic Republic of the Congo]] and in spreading awareness of the disease in Russia.<ref name="unicef1"/><ref name="unicef2"/> Lange fostered a Romanian child with disabilities during the early 1990s.<ref name="independent.co.uk"/>
