He was elected Fellow of [[Trinity College, Oxford|Trinity College]], Oxford, 1954β1967. He was elected to the [[Royal Society]] in 1947. In 1953, he received the [[Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine]] for his "discovery of the citric acid cycle." (He shared the Nobel Prize with [[Fritz Lipmann]].)
