As of March 2011, there were a total of 11,904 registered voters in Garfield, of which 3,958 (33.2% vs. 31.7% countywide) were registered as [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democrats]], 1,395 (11.7% vs. 21.1%) were registered as [[Republican Party (United States)|Republicans]] and 6,541 (54.9% vs. 47.1%) were registered as [[Unaffiliated (New Jersey)|Unaffiliated]].
