Doylestown has a [[council-manager]] form of government consisting of a "weak" Mayor and a nine-member borough council. The mayor is elected at-large to a term of four years. The borough council is divided into three wards, with each ward electing three members to terms of four years. Borough council is in charge of enacting legislation, raising and spending public money, regulating land use, and providing public services. The council is required to meet once a month to conduct business. As of 2022, the mayor of Doylestown is Elnora "Noni" West.
