Colombia has about 2,000 species of [[marine fish]] and is the second most diverse country in [[freshwater fish]]. It is also the country with the most endemic species of [[List of butterflies of Colombia|butterflies]], is first in [[orchid]] species, and has approximately 7,000 species of [[beetle]]s. Colombia is second in the number of amphibian species and is the third most diverse country in [[List of reptiles of Colombia|reptiles]] and [[Arecaceae|palms]]. There are about 1,900 species of [[mollusk]]s and according to estimates there are about 300,000 species of [[invertebrates]] in the country.
