Characterised by an open front with regularly spaced posts or pillars. * Milk room or milk house: to store milk. *[[Oast house]]s: an outbuilding used for drying [[hops]] as part of the brewing process. * Shelter sheds: open-fronted structures for stock * Shippon: a shed which houses [[oxen]] and [[cattle]].
