==Film about MacLeod== He was the subject of a documentary film by the [[National Film Board]], ''Reading Alistair MacLeod'', released in 2005. The 88-minute film, directed by [[William D. MacGillivray|Bill MacGillivray]], includes interviews with MacLeod, his wife Anita and other family members. Prominent writers such as [[Russell Banks]], [[Colm Tóibín]] and [[David Adams Richards]] read from and comment on MacLeod's writing.
