==Etymology== Walcheren is first attested in Latinized spelling, such as ''villam Walichrum'' ca. 790 and ''Vualacra'' ca. 837. Germanic spellings start appearing around the [[High Middle Ages]], like [[Old Dutch]] ''[[:wikt:walacheri|Walacheri]]'' ca. 1150.
