== History == The town was first settled in 1873 on land owned by local Jesse Pierce. By the end of the year, a saloon was in operation, operated by Gammons & Fowlkes.<ref name=":0">{{Cite book |title=Goodspeeds History of Tennessee |date=1887 |publisher=Goodspeed Publishing Company |location=Nashville, TN}}</ref> The following year, the town was named Trimble Station, when the Paducah & Memphis Railroad extended its line from [[Troy, Tennessee|Troy Station, TN]] south to the Dyer County line. Construction of this extension was completed on May 15, 1874.<ref>{{Cite book |last=Poor |first=Henry V. |title=Manual of the Railroads of the United States for 1874-1875 |date=1874 |publisher=H.V. & H.W. Poor |volume=VII |location=New York, NY |pages=408}}</ref> The line was not extended south to Dyersburg until June of 1882 by the Chesapeake, Ohio, & Southwestern Railroad, a predecessor of the Newport News & Mississippi Valley Railroad and the [[Illinois Central Railroad]].<ref>{{Cite book |last=Poor |first=Henry V. |title=Manual of the Railroad of the United States for 1882 |date=1882 |publisher=H.V. and H.W. Poor |volume=XV |location=New York, NY |pages=492}}</ref> In 1884, a school named Trimble Academy was chartered in the town.<ref name=":0" /> In 2014, the Full Throttle Distillery was opened in Trimble, on the site of the former Trimble Cotton Gin.
