Syosset is located approximately {{convert|32|mi|km|-1}} east of [[Midtown Manhattan]], {{convert|14|mi|km|-1}} east of the eastern border with [[Queens]], {{convert|23|mi|km|-1}} southeast of the [[Throgs Neck Bridge]], and {{convert|168|mi|km|-1}} southeast of [[Albany, New York|Albany]], the state capital. It borders [[Oyster Bay (hamlet), New York|Oyster Bay]] and [[Laurel Hollow, New York|Laurel Hollow]] to the north, [[Woodbury, Nassau County, New York|Woodbury]] to the east, [[Plainview, New York|Plainview]] and [[Hicksville, New York|Hicksville]] to the south, and [[Jericho, New York|Jericho]] and [[Muttontown, New York|Muttontown]] to the west. Syosset is accessible to [[New York City]] by the [[Long Island Rail Road|LIRR]] and the [[I-495 (NY)|Long Island Expressway]] by car.
