==Geography== Stottville hamlet is located along [[Claverack Creek]], a tributary of Stockport Creek, at {{Coord|42|17|7|N|73|44|53|W|type:city}} (42.285238, -73.747933).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> The Stottville CDP includes most of the southern part of the town of Stockport, as well as the northernmost part of the town of Greenport. It is bordered to the north by Stockport hamlet and to the south by [[Lorenz Park, New York|Lorenz Park]] in Greenport. The [[Hudson River]] is to the west. [[U.S. Route 9 in New York|U.S. Route 9]] runs through Stottville, leading south {{convert|3|mi|0}} to [[Hudson, New York|Hudson]], the Columbia [[County seat]], and north {{convert|9|mi|0}} to [[Kinderhook (village), New York|Kinderhook]]. According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the CDP has a total area of {{convert|4.1|sqmi|km2}}, of which {{convert|4.1|sqmi|km2}} is land and {{convert|0.04|sqmi|km2}} (0.48%) is water.
