== Etymology ==
The [[Greeks]] who conquered Sindh in 325 BC under the command of [[Alexander the Great]] referred to the [[Indus River]] as ''[[wikt:Ἰνδός#Ancient Greek|Indós]]'', hence the modern ''Indus''. The ancient [[Iranian peoples|Iranians]] referred to everything east of the river Indus as ''hind''.<ref name="Now or Never">{{cite web|author=Choudhary Rahmat Ali|date=28 January 1933|title=Now or Never.
