==Discovery== [[France|French]] astronomer [[รdouard Stephan]] discovered [[NGC 6027]] on 20 March 1882, but he was unable to resolve the individual galaxies in the group.<ref name="selig">{{cite web | url = https://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc60.htm#6027 | title = New General Catalogue Objects: NGC{{nbsp}}6027 | last = Seligman | first = Courtney | website = Celestial Atlas | access-date = 28 August 2024 }}</ref> The group members were discovered by [[Carl Keenan Seyfert]] using photographic plates made at the [[Barnard Observatory (Vanderbilt)|Barnard Observatory]] of [[Vanderbilt University]].
