==Background==
Nazari was a 48-year-old resident of Sanaa, Yemen, and a veteran of the [[Soviet–Afghan War]], where he had fought alongside the [[Islamic Unity of Afghanistan Mujahideen|Mujahideen]] against the [[Soviet Union]] during their invasion of [[Afghanistan]].
