==Personal life== Hadlee was born on 3 July 1951 at [[St Albans, New Zealand|St Albans]], [[Christchurch]]. His father [[Walter Hadlee]], and two of his four brothers, [[Dayle Hadlee|Dayle]] and [[Barry Hadlee|Barry]], played cricket for [[New Zealand national cricket team|New Zealand]]. His former wife [[Karen Hadlee|Karen]] also played international cricket for New Zealand.<ref name="Profile">{{cite web |url=http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/37224.html |title=Richard Hadlee |publisher=[[ESPNcricinfo]]|access-date=21 August 2012}}</ref> Having discovered that he had [[Wolff–Parkinson–White syndrome]] six months after retiring, he had heart surgery in July 1991.
