==Geography== Red Bank is located just east of the center of Lexington County at {{Coord|33|55|55|N|81|13|49|W|type:city}} (33.932005, -81.230211).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is bordered to the north by [[Lexington, South Carolina|Lexington]], the [[county seat]], and to the south by the [[White Knoll, South Carolina|White Knoll]] CDP. [[South Carolina Highway 6]] (S. Lake Drive) is the main road through town, leading north {{convert|3.5|mi}} to the center of Lexington and south {{convert|5.5|mi}} to [[Edmund, South Carolina|Edmund]]. Platt Springs Road ([[South Carolina Highway 602]] east of SC-6) forms the border between Red Bank and White Knoll. Highway 602 leads northeast {{convert|11|mi}} to [[West Columbia, South Carolina|West Columbia]]. According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the Red Bank CDP has a total area of {{convert|31.2|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|30.6|sqkm|order=flip}} are land and {{convert|0.6|sqkm|order=flip|1}}, or 1.85%, are water.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2019">{{cite web|title=2019 U.S. Gazetteer Files|url=https://www2.census.gov/geo/docs/maps-data/data/gazetteer/2019_Gazetteer/2019_gaz_place_45.txt|publisher=United States Census Bureau|access-date=December 29, 2020}}</ref> Red Bank Creek, an east-flowing tributary of [[Congaree Creek]] and part of the [[Congaree River]] watershed, passes just south of the original town center. Crystal Lake and Saxe-Gotha Millpond are two small reservoirs impounding the creek.
