==Geography==

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of {{convert|30.95|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, of which {{convert|29.16|sqmi|sqkm|2}}  is land and {{convert|1.79|sqmi|sqkm|2}} is water.<ref name ="Gazetteer files">{{cite web|title=US Gazetteer files 2010|url=https://www.census.gov/geo/maps-data/data/gazetteer2010.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=December 16, 2012}}</ref> Drained by Beaver Brook and Tingley Brook, Readfield includes the northern half of [[Maranacook Lake]], the southern half of Torsey Pond, the southeast corner of [[Echo Lake (Maine)|Echo Lake]], and the northeast shore of Lovejoy Pond.

The town is crossed by state routes [[Maine State Route 17|17]], [[Maine State Route 41|41]] and [[Maine State Route 135|135]]. It borders the towns of [[Manchester, Maine|Manchester]] to the east, [[Winthrop, Maine|Winthrop]] to the south, [[Wayne, Maine|Wayne]] to the southwest, [[Fayette, Maine|Fayette]] to the west, and [[Mount Vernon, Maine|Mount Vernon]] and [[Belgrade, Maine|Belgrade]] to the north.
