==Geography==
Raymond is located in northwestern Montgomery County at {{coord|39|19|15|N|89|34|28|W|type:city}} (39.320834, -89.574373).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> [[Illinois Route 48]] passes through the village as O'Bannon Street, leading west {{convert|3|mi|0}} to [[Interstate 55]] at [[Zanesville, Illinois|Zanesville]] and northeast {{convert|22|mi}} to [[Taylorville, Illinois|Taylorville]]. [[Illinois Route 127]] passes through the west side of the village, going west with IL 48 to Interstate 55 but leading south {{convert|12|mi}} to [[Hillsboro, Illinois|Hillsboro]], the Montgomery [[county seat]].

According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], Raymond has a total area of {{convert|1.26|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, all land.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2022"/> The West Fork of [[Shoal Creek (Illinois)|Shoal Creek]] runs along the western edge of the village, flowing southward to Shoal Creek south of Hillsboro. The village is part of the [[Kaskaskia River]] watershed.
