==Setting==
Nyack is one of five southeastern Rockland County [[Village (New York)|village]]s and [[Hamlet (New York)|hamlet]]s that constitute "The Nyacks":&ndash; Nyack, [[Central Nyack]], [[South Nyack, New York|South Nyack]], [[Upper Nyack, New York|Upper Nyack]] and [[West Nyack, New York|West Nyack]]. Named after the [[Native Americans in the United States|Native Americans]] who resided there before [[Colonial history of the United States|European colonization]], the village consists mostly of low-rise buildings on hilly terrain along the western shore of the [[Hudson River]]. Adjacent South Nyack is the western terminus of the [[Tappan Zee Bridge (2017–present)|Tappan Zee Bridge]], which connects to [[Tarrytown, New York|Tarrytown]] in [[Westchester County, New York|Westchester County]] via U.S. [[Interstate 87 (New York)|Interstate 87]], an important commuter route.

The village encompasses approximately {{convert|1.6|sqmi}}, over 50% of which is water. It is located in the [[Nyack Public Schools]] district.
