== History == {{Main|History of Nickelodeon}} The channel's name comes from the first [[Nickel (United States coin)|five-cent]] movie theaters called [[Nickelodeon (movie theater)|nickelodeons]]. Its history dates back to December 1, 1977, when [[Time Warner Cable|Warner Cable Communications]] launched the first 2-way interactive cable system, [[QUBE]],{{sfn|Hendershot|2004|pp=15β16}} in [[Columbus, Ohio|Columbus]], [[Ohio]].
