==History== Newtonsville was [[plat]]ted on March 30, 1838, by Stephen Whitaker and Cornelius Washburn.<ref name="Everts" /> A post office called Newtonsville has been in operation since 1847.<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.postalhistory.com/postoffices.asp?task=display&state=OH&county=Clermont | title=Clermont County | publisher=Jim Forte Postal History | access-date=16 January 2016}}</ref> In the 19th century, the village was home to a [[gristmill]] and chair factory.<ref name="Everts" /> The village gradually lost business after [[World War I]].<ref name="Enquirer Wartman chance" /> In 2016, the [[Ohio State Auditor]] placed the village in a state of fiscal caution due to poor bookkeeping.
