==History== Muscoy was developed in the mid-1890s as a community designed to accommodate family agricultural enterprises. Roads and water service were developed to serve one to ten acre parcels. Vineyards, orchards and various field crops were planted and cultivated. After [[World War II]], population growth accelerated and the area began a transition from agricultural use to a more suburban residential character. During the 1950s and 1960s, the San Bernardino area became a popular stop during road trips. This resulted in more shops opening up to serve the needs of travelers, and more people establishing permanent residences around the Muscoy area.<ref>{{Cite web | title = Muscoy Community Plan | publisher = [[San Bernardino County]] | date = April 12, 2007 | url = http://www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us/landuseservices/Community%20Plans/Adopted%20Plans/MuscoyCP-Adopted.pdf | format = PDF | access-date = December 6, 2009 | archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20110604005530/http://www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us/landuseservices/Community%20Plans/Adopted%20Plans/MuscoyCP-Adopted.pdf | archive-date = June 4, 2011 | url-status = dead }}</ref> In 1989, a gasoline pipeline explosion caused two deaths.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-05-25-mn-1056-story.html|title=Blast Burns 10 Homes; 2 Die : Gas Explosion at Crash Site of Runaway Train|first=Jenifer|last=Warren|date=25 May 1989|access-date=19 April 2018|via=LA Times}}</ref>
