The borough is surrounded by [[Monroe Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania|Monroe Township]] but is separate from it. [[U.S. Route 220]] passes through the borough, leading north {{convert|4|mi|0}} to [[Towanda, Pennsylvania|Towanda]], the county seat, and south {{convert|9|mi|0}} to [[New Albany, Pennsylvania|New Albany]]. [[Pennsylvania Route 414]] leads west from the borough {{convert|21|mi}} to [[Canton, Pennsylvania|Canton]].

The U.S. Post Office there is "Monroeton, PA 18832" and the road signs at the borough limits say "Monroeton".
