According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Millington has a total area of {{convert|0.76|sqmi|km2|2}}, of which {{convert|0.71|sqmi|km2|2}} (or 92.79%) is land and {{convert|0.06|sqmi|km2|2}} (or 7.21%) is water.<ref name="gaz2021">{{Cite web |publisher=United States Census Bureau |title=Gazetteer Files |url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html |access-date=June 29, 2022 |website=Census.gov}}</ref> It lies mostly on the southeast side of the [[Fox River (Illinois River tributary)|Fox River]], except for a neighborhood along Belle Rive Drive on the northwest side of the river.

Millington is {{convert|2|mi|0}} north of [[Newark, Illinois|Newark]], {{convert|7|mi|0}} south of [[Sandwich, Illinois|Sandwich]], and {{convert|11|mi}} southwest of [[Yorkville, Illinois|Yorkville]]. [[Joliet, Illinois|Joliet]] is {{convert|30|mi}} to the east, and [[Aurora, Illinois|Aurora]] is {{convert|22|mi}} to the northeast.
