==Early life==

When he was two years old, his family moved from South St. Paul to Hollywood, California, where his father worked as a carpenter on film sets. Farrell attended West Hollywood Grammar School in the same class as fellow actor [[Natalie Wood]], and graduated from [[Hollywood High School]]. He served in the [[United States Marine Corps]] from 1957 to 1959.
